In Ragamala paintings, Gitai has bought in life in the paintings by combining musical codes with poetry. He makes paintings on various surfaces like old handmade paper, wall murals & fine silk. The materials &colors used are his own made from precious stones, minerals & herbs. The brushes are made from squirrel hair. Gold & silver colors are made from gold & silver leaf.
