About the Competition

  1. The sole purpose of this competition is to identify and encourage photography and videography talent of participants.
  2. Exciting prizes worth Rs. 7 lakhs to be won in the competition
  3. Participation is open for individual as well as institutional participants.
  4. The competition will be hosted on imd1 app and imd1 website.
  5. DCP Expeditions LLP are the knowledge partners for this competition.
  6. There are three sections in this competition. A user can participate in one or more sections of VDX2019 as mentioned below:

Photography Competition – for pictures clicked with DSLR, point-and-shoot, bridge camera or any other except mobile camera.


Photography Competition – for pictures clicked on mobile camera.


Videography competition – for videos captured from any device including mobile

Soumabrata Moulick

Soumabrata Moulick is a passionate wildlife photographer and nature enthusiast. Primarily interested in behavioural and conservation photography, he believes that knowledge should be shared with no holds barred and has a flair for teaching. An engineer by profession, he left his high paying full-time job to devote all his time and devotion to the observation, study and documentation of nature and wildlife. His work has been published and acknowledged in various national and some of the most renowned international platforms. He is today a successful conservation photographer and contributes enormously towards the conservation of fast vanishing natural wonders. Som (as we call him lovingly) is a full time Masterclass Mentor with team DCP, taking Wildlife Photography to its next orbit.

Ashutosh Shinde

Ashutosh Shinde based out of Mumbai, is a banker by profession and wildlife enthusiast by passion. Wildlife has always been his passion from childhood. Ashutosh has travelled across Maharashtra in search of wildlife, but his core area of interest has always remained the wildlife of Gujarat. Having travelled extensively in the local terrains, he has gained quite a good knowledge about the resident and migratory flora & fauna. He has been successful in showcasing his knowledge in varied genre of wildlife photography. His work has been recognized by leading international nature & conservation institution like NGC, BBC Wildlife Magazine, iNaturalist etc. He is associated as a Panel Photography Expert and Consultant, Strategy Team DCP, Mumbai.

Amit Rane

Amit Rane is one of the most skilled Wildlife photographers in the DCP family. He has travelled extensively across Indian geography for more than 18 years and has in depth knowledge of difficult terrains spread across the Indian subcontinent. He has brilliant photography skills in all genre of Wildlife photography starting from bird photography to mammals, from landscapes to macro photography, from reptiles to amphibians. He is a trained Herpetologist and loves reptiles. He is a regular travel photographer and writer. He also has deep interest in product and fashion photography. He has a fantastic teaching acumen. He is a trainer, biodiversity expert, wildlife photography advisor and holds the chair of Director, Outbound Expeditions, Team DCP.

Dr. Caesar Sengupta

Dr. Caesar Sengupta is extremely passionate about what he does. He is a dedicated Wildlife Conservation Photographer, a National Geographic award winner, a freelance writer and a trainer. He is an MD, Medical Microbiologist by profession. He conducts regular wildlife photography workshops and field expeditions across the country and abroad with a focussed motto of escalating India Wildlife Photography to an International platform. He has travelled far and wide across the Indian geography, exploring the rich Indian biodiversity stretching from North East rainforests to the magnanimous Western Ghats, from the Sub-Himalayan forests to Coastal strips of India. His photography depicts the untold and unseen beauties of nature. He works in association with environmentalists, conservation activists, naturalists, scientists and researchers in an attempt to generate awareness about the earth’s natural history.

Institution Prizes

  • Institution that sends the highest number of entries to receive a special trophy and recognition/certificate.
  • Institution that sends best entries (based on the number entries shortlisted) to receive a special trophy and recognition/certificate.

The disbursement of prize amount shall be subject to applicable tax deduction and in compliance with prevalent laws.

The organizers reserve right to ask documents of the user for verification and identification purpose. In the event where winner fails to provide such documents, the organizers reserve right to withhold the amount till the time documents are not submitted within reasonable time, beyond which the prize amount may be given to other eligible participant.

Rules - Visual Digital Xtravaganza, 2019

1. Sections: There are three section in this competition. A user can participate in one or more sections as mentioned below:


Photography Competition – for pictures clicked with DSLR, point-and-shoot, bridge camera or any other except mobile camera.


Photography Competition – for pictures clicked on mobile camera.


Videography competition – for videos captured from any device including mobile

2. Competition Timelines:

  • Competition Start Date: 07-May-2019
  • Entries Last Date: 31-Jul-2019
  • Voting Dates: 07-May-2019 to 07-Aug-2019
  • The date of result for “Overall Winners” and “Category Winners” across all the sections shall be declared by 20-Aug-2019.
  • The result for “Weekly Prize” will be declared on every Friday for the preceding week

3. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Competition is open for user who is a resident of India during the period of the competition.
  • Participants must complete their user and enter full details, including Date of Birth, Gender, PIN Code and name of institution (wherever applicable)
  • Participant must have completed 6 years as on competition launch date. However, participants of the age below 18 years must participate after obtaining consent of the main profile of their parents / guardians or through sub-profiles created by participant of the age 18 and above.
  • Participants are required to read and agree to Terms & Conditions before participating in the competition. Users below the age of legal limit need to ensure that the terms and conditions or any concerning legal matter are agreed by the legal guardians of the participant.
  • Entries submitted under this competition by imd1 and DCP Expeditions employees and associates, business partners, sponsors and the direct relatives of the above people shall not be considered for any prizes.

4. Entries:

  • Participants can submit their entries either on imd1 app or on imd1 website.
  • A participant can submit up to 5 entries in each section of the competition through each profile and sub-profile. A maximum of three sub-profiles is allowed per user.
  • Photographs submitted (under myClick and mobileClick) for the competition should be maximum 50 MB in size and in JPEG/JPG format only.
  • Videos submitted (under Talkies) should have maximum duration of 240 seconds and size should be maximum 1GB. However, resolution quality of the video will not be considered for deciding winner.
  • Uploaded photographs are allowed basic edits to enhance the aesthetics of the photos. However, content of a picture must not be altered by adding, rearranging, reversing, distorting or removing people and/or objects from within the frame.
  • Entries must be original, and participants’ own work and should not violate terms & conditions defined for this competition.
  • Organisers have right to demand original source file(s) and other details as required to verify ownership and authenticity of the entry.
  • The entries which have won prizes in other known photography competitions are not eligible for this competition.
  • Participants may select one or more than one category while submitting the entry; however, the entry will be considered for prize (if eligible) under any one category only. Please see further for details about categories.
  • Photo once uploaded cannot be edited by the User. The user can withdraw the uploaded Photo after submitting the entry and will not be considered for the competition for any purpose. However, the withdrawn photo will be taken into consideration for counting maximum number of entries allowed in the competition under each user profile.

5. Institutional Participants

Participants submitted their entries under institutional segment must ensure that they select/enter their institutions name in their profiles. There shall be a separate special prize for institutional participants, details of which are provided further.

6. Categories for entries:

i. myClick and mobileClick

  • BlackAndWhite: Monochrome photographs with various shades of grey.
  • Nature: Photographs of wildlife, i.e. animals, birds, flora, etc. or breath-taking natural landscapes like waterfalls, valleys, fields, etc.
  • People: Photographs of people with their emotions (joy, grief, shyness, etc.), key moments (birth, wedding, achievement, etc.) or key moments of any activity in Music, Art, Dance or Sports.
  • Places: Pictures of urban and rural infrastructure, monuments, streets, etc.
  • Food: Photographs taken with food as a focus.
  • Fashion: Clicks that enhance beauty of clothes as well as the people wearing them.
  • Festivals: Submit the picture of celebrations and joy of festivals.
  • Specials (only for myClick): Underwater, Astro (photographs of the universe high above), Macro (Capturing photographs of tiniest objects and beings and magnifying them) and Adventure (photographs of adventurous moments like biking, bungee jumping, para-gliding, stunts, etc.)
  • Selfie (only for mobileClick): Flaunt about yourself, share memories with your gang by submitting self-captured images.

ii. Talkies

  • Scripted: Create your own stories on theme of your choice, e.g. comedy, romance, documentary, drama, social message, animation, etc.
  • Candid: Submit the footages of candidly captured moments of joy, celebration, sport, adventure (e.g. biking, bungee jumping, para-gliding, stunts, etc.), comic videos, etc.

7. Selection of Winners:

  • When a participant submits an entry in the competition under any section, it will become available for voting by other users.
  • Determined based on the number of votes received, top entries in myClick, mobileClick and Talkies, photographs of weekly winners and MADS+ celebrity choice photographs shall be submitted to panel of judges for final evaluation and judgement.
  • Top entries under each category will get a prize as specified above. An entry submitted under multiple categories shall be eligible to get prize under any one category only.
  • There will be an overall winner across all categories, the prize for which is as specified above.
  • Decision of the panel of judges shall be final and binding. There shall be no scope of appeal in this regard.
  • Shortlisted participants may be asked to submit raw original images/footages and other such details like shutter speed, ISO, aperture, F-stop, etc. as asked for verification and authenticity.
  • Results of the competition will be published by the organisers on imd1 app. Winners will also be notified on registered mobile / verified email.
  • Organisers have right to remove any entry from the competition at any stage for it being offensive or irrelevant or due to non-adherence to the terms and conditions of the competition or for any reason whatsoever and decision of the organisers will be final in this regard.
  • Organisers keep all the rights reserved including change in format, categories, prizes, winners, rules, terms & conditions and can be changed any time before, during or after the competition.
  • In case the winning entry is submitted from a sub-profile, the prize money will be disbursed to the associated main profile only.

Terms and Conditions

Aidia Technovations Private Limited (“Company”) is the owner and the creator of “imd1” an app/online based project and the services offered/to be offered by imd1 (“Platform”). The term "Platform" used in this document refers to the website (being, mobile apps and / or any other services offered. The Platform offers various products / services for market place, course & curriculum in the area of co-curriculum related to Music, Art, Dance, Sports & beyond (MADS+), hosting various digital competitions and social networking. The Platform includes software that may be downloaded to your computer, phone, tablet or other electronic device. You agree that we may automatically update the software from time to time, and that these Terms will apply to such updates. These Terms are in addition to General Terms of Use and applicable to users participating to any digital competitions hosted on the Platform.


Access to and use of imd1  platform is provided by Aidia Technovations Private Limited (“Company”, “Platform”, “imd1”) for participating in Visual Digital Xtravaganza, 2019 – the digital photography and videography competition (“VDX2019”, “Competition”) to imd1 Registered Users ("You"/"Your"/”User”), subject to the following terms and conditions ("Terms").

By accessing the Competition or uploading any media on the Platform to participate in the Competition, you are deemed to have accepted the Terms, which shall take effect immediately on entering the Competition. If You do not agree to be legally bound by all the following Terms please do not access and/or use the Competition section of the Platform.

1. Use of imd1 Platform for Competition

  • This Platform is intended for use by resident citizen of India.
  • You acknowledge and agree that the entire content, design and the selection and arrangement of the content and media contained on this Platform, including but not limited to text, software, music, sound, photographs, graphics, video, (individually and collectively, the "Content") is proprietary property of the Company. You acknowledge and agree that you are permitted to use the Content only as expressly set out below, and any use such as, but not limited to, copying, reproducing, republishing, transmitting, distributing, offering any of the Content to the public, or creating derivative works of the Content is prohibited without the prior express written authorisation of the Company.
  • All Content on the Platform remains the property of the Company, or, in respect of certain media uploaded by the Registered User, the author of the media unless specified otherwise in these terms.
  • You shall use, retrieve and display Content on a computer or mobile device for non-commercial use only. You shall not store permanent copies of the Content in any form.
  • You shall not use the Platform for the posting, uploading, emailing or other transmission of any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail," "spam," "chain letters," or any other form of solicitation or commercial exploitation.
  • You shall not create a database in electronic or structured manual form by systematically downloading, copying, compiling and/or storing all or any of the Content or media uploaded by users.

2. Availability & Security

Whilst the Company endeavours to ensure that the Platform is normally available 24 hours a day, the Company will not be liable if for any reason the Platform is unavailable at any time or for any period. The Company does not guarantee the functions contained in the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that defects will be corrected even if the Company is aware of them. Additionally, the Company makes no warranty that the Platform services or its server are free from infection by viruses or anything else that has contaminating or destructive properties.

3. Intellectual Property and Trademarks

The names, images and logos identifying the Company or the Organiser or third parties and their products and services and the competition are subject to copyright, design rights and/or trademarks of the respective party displayed on Platform are proprietary property of the respective party. Nothing contained on the Platform should be construed as granting, by implication, estoppel, or otherwise, any license or right to use any trademark, patent, design right or copyright of the Company, Organiser or third parties. In the event that you misuse any trademark, patent, design right or copyright in violation of these Terms, the Company and/or its subsidiaries and/or affiliates and/or associated companies and/or Organiser will aggressively enforce its intellectual property rights to the fullest extent of the law, including the seeking of criminal prosecution.

You are free to make any suggestions for improvement of the Platform to the Company through this Platform or otherwise. Such suggestions if incorporated by the Company, shall become the property of the Company and the Company shall exclusively now and hereinafter own all rights, title and interest therein.

The Company reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify and remove any media uploaded (“entry”) that does not comply with the following requirements, even after the entry is submitted on the Platform.

You warrant and represent, in respect of each entry submitted by You (“Entry”), as follows:

  • You are the only author of your work and it is your original work of each Entry.
  • You have the right to make Your entry available on the Platform.
  • Entry does not contain any infringing, threatening, false, misleading, abusive, harassing, libellous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, profane content, or does not breach any law, and further that no third party can hold any claims or any objections regarding the usage rights granted to the Company specified in this document. You will hold the Company harmless of any claims from third parties related hereto.
  • Entry does not contain any material that could constitute or encourage conduct which would be considered a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law.
  • Entry does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, contract rights, or any other intellectual property rights of any third person or entity, or violate any person’s rights of privacy or publicity.
  • Entries which contain any commercial content that promotes any product or service.

You agree to fully indemnify the Company or Organiser in respect of all royalties, fees and any other monies owing to any person by reason of Your breaching any of the foregoing.

The Company may run an online voting process whereby registered users of the Platform may vote for a favourite Entry. If there is sufficient evidence (in the Company’s sole discretion) to suggest malpractice and manipulation of the voting process, then the Company has the right to remove the relevant Entry or Entries.

The Company respects photographers’ copyrights and copyrights shall remain vested with the creator of the media. Upon making the submission, you grant the Company, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty free, sub-licensable right and license to use, publish, reproduce, display, perform, adapt, create derivative works, distribute, have distributed, print, in whole or in part, in any form, in all media forms now or hereafter known, to promote the competition, image, the photographer or for editorial, marketing, promotional or educative use.

You acknowledge that it is your responsibility for protecting any Entry against misuse by any third party, for example, but not limited to the insertion of a watermark. The Company, Organiser or its partners assume no responsibility and are not liable for any misuse or any claim by any third party. This Competition contains additional rules and regulations specific to the competition, prizes and can be found within the competition section of the Platform.

4. Liability

  • While the Company / Organiser / Sponsors will use reasonable efforts to include accurate and up to date information on the Platform, the Company / Organiser / Sponsors make no warranties or representations as to the accuracy, correctness, reliability or otherwise with respect to such information, and assumes no liability or responsibility for any omissions or errors (including, without limitation, typographical errors and technical errors) in the Content.
  • Use of and browsing the Platform is to be done at your own risk. Neither the Company nor Organiser involved in creating, producing, or delivering the content, nor any naming right sponsors, event sponsors and third parties affiliated with the Company and the Organiser shall be liable for any direct, incidental, consequential, indirect, or punitive damages arising out of your access to, or use of, or browsing the Platform, or downloading of any materials, data, text images, video, or audio from the Platform, including, without limitation, damage to, or viruses that may infect, your computer equipment or mobile device or other property as a result thereof. Without limiting the foregoing, everything on the Platform is provided to You "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
  • You hereby hold harmless, release, indemnify and discharge the Company, Organisers and its partners, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, agents and their employees, officers and representatives from all liability, claims, judgments, demands, controversies, agreements, damages, actions and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related in any way to the competition or the conduct of the competition and the acceptance and use, misuse, or possession of any prize awarded, whether in law or in equity, no matter what the cause or nature, and You further waive any claims that You may state or assert against the Company in association with the competition or any of its associated activities, or in any way related to or resulting from the competition even if such injury or claims results from or is caused by the negligence or gross negligence of the Company, in whole or in part, due to human error or otherwise. You further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company from any claim arising out of your participation in the competition including, without limitation, all claims brought or asserted by any third party as a result of any injury or loss that You or they may sustain in any way associated with your participation in the competition.
  • Under no circumstance will the Company be liable for any:
    1. lost, late, misdirected, stolen, illegible or incomplete entries
    2. error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, submitted entries;
    3. problems, failures or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, providers, computer equipment, software, email, players or browsers, on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, at any website, or on account of any combination of the foregoing;
    4. incorrect or inaccurate information, caused by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of the Photos / Videos and/or the Submissions; and/or
    5. injury or damage to any Participant or to any computer related to, resulting from or in connection with the Competition.
  • If, for any reason, the competition is not capable of being conducted as anticipated, due to computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Company, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the competition, the Company reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition as deemed appropriate, disqualify any Participant, and/or select winners from all eligible Entries submitted prior to the termination, cancellation, modification or suspension. The Company reserves the right to correct any typo-graphical, printing, computer programming or operating errors at any time.

5. Links to Other Sites

You may not create a link to the Platform from another website or document without the Company’s prior written consent.

In the event that the Company may, from time to time, allow for discussions, chats, postings, transmissions, comments and the like on the Platform, the Company is under no obligation to monitor or review such transmitted information and assumes no responsibility or liability arising from the content of any such transmitted information nor for any error, defamation, libel, slander, omission, falsehood, obscenity, pornography, profanity, danger, or inaccuracy of any such information. You are prohibited from posting or transmitting any unlawful, threatening, libellous, defamatory, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, or profane material or any material that could constitute or encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any applicable law.

6. Governing Laws

The Competition, Your Entry(ies), Terms & Conditions and the Rules shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Indian laws. Any aspects or disputes arising out of or in connection with the competition and/or your entry(ies) will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in Mumbai and You hereby accede to and accept the jurisdiction of such courts.
