At what point in your life did you decide to take up HR as your career? What were the guiding / motivating factors?

After finishing my BSC I planned to take up MBA and I opted for HR as my prime subject. It motivated me as I was going through the course the people factor in the course made me take up this subject.

HR is one practice that touches human lives directly. Do you think employers and specially HR Professional can play role in reducing stress levels of employees through various employee engagement initiatives?

YES , we see people day in and day out, A person joining the organization and leaving the organization it has to be through HR. Interaction with the staffs on daily basis and understanding the problems which they face will be shared with us and as a HR also we will try and help them to solve the issues. 

What are some of the most important employee engagement initiatives related to Music, Art, Dance or Sports that you have taken in your career?

1.    My major interest is Sports- Cricket, Badminton, Basket Ball.
2.    I have performed in couple of dances in a group.
3.    I listened to Music and my favourite Singer is Arijit Singh.

Do you think time and cost for employee engagements are an investment for the organisation and can help in multi-fold returns?

Yes, our staffs like Nurses, doctors and customer care are meeting the patients day in and day out as they are touching the lives every day and interaction with them has made the human touch very effective for the organization growth. By keeping them engaged in the workplace they feel relaxed for a while as they work in shifts and some of them are away from home and staying hostels we provide them good care and support.

Do you feel there is a need even to reach out to the family of employees so that they get better connected to the company? Have you undertaken any such initiative in your past or current organization?

We have got connected with the staff family in the previous organization when it comes to Promotion in the work and any good work like going an extra mile or beyond the call of duty in their respective department we call the family and give away the awards.

What is the one change that you would like to bring in HR practice that has potential to boost employee’s work-life balance?

To keep the work life balance in healthcare industry I would say to give time for family as it is very important than anything.

What are your personal interests in Music, Art, Dance or Sports and how do you continue to pursue it?

My personal interests are sports like cricket, Tennis, Badminton and Basket ball, we do have sports day every year over and above that I keep myself fit doing exercise everyday and play cricket every Sunday in the morning. I do have some newspaper cutting of my performance at school level and state level sports.
