When and why did you decide to take up education as your career?

A feeling of likelihood developed to be with children, to do something for them that I had learned in a more polished way.

As an educationalist, you are touching many human lives directly. Do you think educational institutions can play a significant role in overall development of students by encouraging them to take up co-curricular interests like Music, Art, Dance or Sports?

Yes, schools have lot of role to give opportunity to children to develop their skills. The schools should encourage students to participate in various co-curricular activities and recognise their skills.

What are some of the most important initiatives related to co-curricular that you have taken in the institutions you have served?

I have made the students realise that living a truthful life one must have a feeling of brotherhood and respect each and everything around you.
Another thing in life is importance of what you communicate, the language must be polite and inspiring to other’s ears.

In the days when most people measure success only by academic score, how would you convey to the parents of your students that co-curricular education is not something to be looked down upon?

Parents are always counselled by telling them that all cannot be alike in a class. As each finger masters over in its own work, a child should be encouraged in proper manner. ‘Jack of all trades but master of none’ --- the saying clearly analyses its effect.
The child at least can work hard to bring his academic score at par. People who only think about academic dominance must also know that a child’s personality can be made through co-curricular adventures also. Co-curricular enhances creativity and develops innovation in a child.

If you were to suggest one major change in perspective of co-curricular education, what would that be?

Co- curricular education has become important in a child’s life. It develops a child’s mind and a wholehearted development takes place. The student becomes more confident, alert to the surroundings. As the school gives enough time to develop the skills of a child, so in the same way let the child take time to understand the skills.

Please let us know about some key achievements of your institution and/or your student(s) in MADS at national/international level?

Our students have achieved fame in athletics, kabaddi (Girls), Volleyball. In dance and music too, they have achieved accolades.

What are your personal interests in Music, Art, Dance or Sports and how do you continue to pursue them?

Music gives me a lot of pleasure in my leisure and passive mood.

Any other thoughts you may want to share.

In my long journey in education I have met, taught, guided thousands. The only thing my thoughts fly saying that “Change yourself to change the world.” If one wants to establish a peaceful environment, one must have control over language. Let us not waste time blaming each other but develop a beautiful bond of love, care and respect .
Its indeed that from Mahabharat times none were seen at peace but the words “I care, You care, Let us all care” must ring in every one’s ears.
