At what point in your life did you decide to take up HR as your career? What were the guiding / motivating factors?

My passion is interacting with people, since my school days I have been counselling and guiding way forward to others. Thus I wanted to connect my passion with my profession. I decided during my last year in Psychology to choose a field which will involve interacting with people and realised HR and Psychologist have maximum contribution of people development.

Yes, I am a big fan of employee engagement. We get to know employees while connecting with them during the engagement activities.  We/HR along with their managers can influence and contribute in reducing stress levels of employees.

What are some of the most important employee engagement initiatives related to Music, Art, Dance or Sports that you have taken in your career?

A combination of MADS – Talent shows includes Music & Dance, yearly Sport calendar for Cricket, Football, Badminton, Chess, Carrom.

From the Art perspective – we have events like best out of waste, rangoli, cooking, magic ad, pic perfect competitions
 

Do you think time and cost for employee engagements are an investment for the organisation and can help in multi-fold returns?

Yes, employee engagement plays a vital role. Professional life is about work hard and play harder. It should be a place when there is Fun to work with, play with and grow with.

Engagement initiatives do give multi-fold returns, here we understand individual at different levels. E.g.: A Manager’s approach towards work would be different as compare to his execution for MADS activities, I have experienced this.
 

Do you feel there is a need even to reach out to the family of employees so that they get better connected to the company? Have you undertaken any such initiative in your past or curr

Connecting with Family is essential too, during my past employment we use to connect with Family members yearly during Diwali and Company Anniversary event.

What are your personal interests in Music, Art, Dance or Sports and how do you continue to pursue it?

My interests are Dance & Music, Chess/Carrom and creativity too. I have joined Zumba club for continuing my M.D activities. For creativity, I try to include the same during my work assignment – Presentation, creative mailers thinking creatively is also an Art.
